Ramos, who chose 'romance' over money, returns to Seville after 18 years... Announcement of one-year contract

Veteran Spanish defender Sergio Ramos (37) returned to Sevilla after 18 years. He chose the love of his homeland over the 'oil money' of Saudi Arabia.

The Seville club announced on the 5th that it had signed a one-year contract with Ramos. Ramos, who was a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain (France) after the 2022-23 season, will wear the uniform of his former team, Sevilla.

“It’s a very special day. I’m very happy to be back home,” Ramos said.

He then expressed his affection for his family by saying, "I am happy to be able to return to Seville. I have always moved with my heart, not money."

Ramos recently received love calls from 성인용품 Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad, Porto (Portugal), and Galatasaray (Turkiye), but ultimately chose Sevilla.

As Al-Ittihad, with its enormous capital, offered Ramos a two-year contract, there was the prospect that he could reunite with Karim Benzema (Al-Ittihad), with whom he played at Real Madrid, but Ramos returned to his former team.

Born in Camas, a town outside Seville, Spain, Ramos came through the youth ranks of Seville FC and made his professional debut for Seville in 2004.

And click here in September 2005, his career blossomed with a move to Real Madrid. He played for Real Madrid for 16 years, winning five La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League (UCL) titles. Ramos transferred to PSG in July 2021 and played for two seasons, helping them win Ligue 1.

He is a veteran defender who led the Spanish national soccer team to victory at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and Euro 2012.
